Anxiety

Generalized anxiety, panic, social anxiety, health anxiety, and persistent worry interfering with daily functioning.

Depression

Persistent low mood, anhedonia, emotional numbness, loss of motivation, and treatment-resistant presentations.

ADHD & Executive Function

Difficulty with focus, impulsivity, task initiation, emotional regulation, and the secondary effects of living with untreated or undertreated ADHD.

Anger & Emotional Dysregulation

Chronic irritability, explosive reactions, difficulty regulating emotions, and the relational impact of unmanaged anger.

Grief & Loss

Complicated grief, unresolved loss, anticipatory grief, and the emotional weight of transitions that go unprocessed.

Compulsive Sexual Behaviour

Sex addiction, pornography addiction, escalation, compulsive use of dating apps, and related secretive behaviours. CSAT-certified.

Burnout & Chronic Stress

Occupational burnout, compassion fatigue, sleep disruption, and the physical and emotional toll of sustained high-stress environments.

Trauma & PTSD

Single-event trauma, complex trauma, adverse childhood experiences, and trauma-linked addictive behaviours. EMDR available.

Spiritual Abuse & Religious Trauma

Harm from toxic religious leadership, church hurt, spiritual manipulation, and the intersection of faith and mental health.

Betrayal Trauma

Support for partners navigating discovery of infidelity or compulsive sexual behaviour, including therapeutic disclosure.

Self-Esteem & Identity

Chronic self-doubt, imposter syndrome, people-pleasing, difficulty with assertiveness, and a persistent sense of not being enough.

Relationship Difficulties

Attachment issues, communication breakdown, emotional withdrawal, conflict avoidance, and difficulty with vulnerability in relationships.

About the Clinician

Joseph Addy is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO #16253) and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute for Trauma & Addiction Professionals (IITAP).

He holds a Master of Divinity and is trained in EMDR, attachment-based therapy, and structured addiction recovery models. His practice focuses on men's mental health, compulsive sexual behaviour, trauma, and the intersection of faith and mental health.

Joseph welcomes collaborative care. With patient consent, he is happy to provide progress updates, coordinate treatment plans with your office, and ensure continuity of care between your work and his.

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

Regulated by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Registration #16253. Bound by CRPO standards of practice and code of ethics.

Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT)

Certified through IITAP. Specialized in compulsive sexual behaviour, pornography addiction, and structured recovery. One of a limited number of CSATs in the GTA.

EMDR Trained

Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing for trauma, PTSD, and trauma-linked behavioural patterns.

Faith-Informed Practice

Master of Divinity with clinical experience in spiritual abuse and religious trauma. Able to integrate faith into treatment when appropriate, or work in a fully secular framework.

Collaborative Care

Open to coordinating with referring physicians, psychiatrists, and other members of the patient’s care team. Progress letters and treatment summaries available on request.

We contact the patient

We reach out within one business day to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation. No cost to the patient.

Treatment begins

If the fit is right, we schedule the first session. With consent, we’re happy to keep you informed on progress.
