Men's Recovery Group — Now accepting applications for the next cohort.
Men's Recovery Group

You've been fighting
this alone long enough.

A structured, confidential recovery group for men working to break free from compulsive sexual behaviour. Led by a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist in Etobicoke, Ontario.

If this sounds familiar

You've cleared your browser history more times than you can count.

You've told yourself this is the last time. Again.

You're functioning. Nobody knows. But you do.

The secrecy is exhausting. The shame spiral after every relapse gets heavier. You make promises to yourself, install the blockers, delete the apps. And then it happens again.

You're living a double life, and the gap between who you are in public and what you do in private is tearing you apart. Your relationship is suffering. Your self-respect is gone. The fear of being found out follows you everywhere.

None of this makes you a bad person. It makes you someone who needs help that actually works.

Why willpower isn't enough

You can't think your way
out of this alone.

Willpower works until it doesn't. Individual therapy helps, but there are limits to what any one relationship can do when the core of the problem is isolation itself.

Compulsive sexual behaviour thrives in secrecy. The more hidden it stays, the more power it has. You can understand the cycle intellectually and still feel powerless to stop it, because the shame keeps you locked in the same loop.

Shame grows in secrecy. It dies when spoken out loud in a room where someone else nods because they've been there too.

Recovery needs witnesses. It needs men who understand the fight, who can hold you accountable without judgment, and who remind you that you are not the only one carrying this.

What to expect

This is not a circle of chairs
and forced confessions.

This is structured clinical group therapy, led by a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. Every session has purpose. Every week builds on the last.

CSAT-led

Facilitated by a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist with specialized training in treating compulsive sexual behaviour.

Small group

6 to 8 men maximum. Small enough for real connection. Large enough to know you are not alone.

12-week cohort

Not a drop-in group. A committed cohort that starts and finishes together. Consistency builds trust.

90-minute sessions

Weekly meetings that give enough space for real work. Accountability, psychoeducation, and process work.

Evidence-based

Grounded in clinical research on addiction, attachment, and neuroscience. Not opinion. Not guesswork.

Confidential

Every member signs a strict confidentiality agreement. What is shared in the room stays in the room.

What you walk away with

Real tools. Real accountability.
Real change.

A structured recovery framework

Not vague advice. A clear, step-by-step approach to understanding and interrupting the cycle of compulsive behaviour.

Tools for managing triggers and urges

Practical strategies you can use in the moment, when the pull is strongest. Skills that work in the real world, not just in theory.

Understanding your cycle

Learn to recognize the emotional patterns, the triggers, and the rituals that lead to acting out. Awareness is the first step to freedom.

Accountability that actually works

Not someone checking up on you. Men who walk the same road, who will call you forward with honesty and without shame.

Connection with men who get it

The loneliest part of this struggle is believing nobody else understands. In this room, that changes.

Guidance from a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist

Clinical expertise matters. This group is led by someone trained specifically to treat this, not a general therapist learning on the job.

Is this for you?

This group is for men who
are ready to stop hiding.

Men who are tired of fighting this alone.

Men whose porn use or sexual behaviour has become compulsive.

Men who have tried to stop and can’t.

Men who are in individual therapy and want to accelerate their recovery.

Men whose relationships have been damaged by their behaviour.

Men who are exhausted by the double life.

This group is not about judgment. It is not about religion. It is about getting honest with yourself in a room where that is actually safe.

Spots are limited to 8 men per cohort.

The next group is forming now. Don't wait until the cost of waiting gets higher.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is this confidential?

Yes. Every group member signs a strict confidentiality agreement before the first session. What is shared in the room stays in the room. This is a clinical setting with professional ethical standards.

Do I need to be in individual therapy?

It is recommended but not required. Individual therapy and group therapy work well together, and many men find that the group accelerates what they are already doing in one-on-one sessions.

What if I’m not sure I have an addiction?

You do not need a label to benefit from this group. If your sexual behaviour feels out of control, if you have tried to stop and cannot, or if it is damaging your relationships or your sense of self, that is enough.

How much does it cost?

$100 per session (90 minutes). The group runs as a 12-week cohort, so the total commitment is $1,200. Fees may be covered under your extended health benefits as "Registered Psychotherapist."

Is this a faith-based program?

It is not a religious program. Joseph is a person of faith, but the group is clinically led and evidence-based. It is open to men of all backgrounds, beliefs, and worldviews.

Can my partner or spouse know?

That is your choice. Many men eventually include their partners in the broader recovery process. Joseph also works with couples navigating betrayal trauma and can help you think through when and how to involve your partner.

What if I miss a session?

Attendance is expected for the sake of group cohesion. The group works because everyone commits to showing up. This is something we discuss during the screening call to make sure the timing works for your schedule.
