Student Therapist Practicum Placement
You're in school learning how to do this work. We want to give you a place to actually do it.
Addy Psychotherapy is a specialized private practice in Etobicoke working with men, couples, and teens navigating addiction recovery, betrayal trauma, anxiety, depression, spiritual abuse, and more. We're offering a practicum placement for student therapists who want hands-on clinical experience in a setting where the work goes deep.
The placement
This is a practicum position for students currently enrolled in a Master's program in counselling, psychotherapy, or a related field. You'll carry a supervised caseload, gain direct client hours, and learn what it means to work in a specialized private practice. This isn't a placement where you observe. You'll be doing real clinical work from day one, with the support and supervision to do it well.
The placement is hybrid. You'll see some clients in person at our Etobicoke office and others virtually. We use Jane App for scheduling and documentation, and we'll train you on everything during onboarding.
What you'll do
- Carry a supervised caseload of individual clients (adults, men, and/or teens)
- Provide psychotherapy under clinical supervision with regular feedback
- Complete clinical documentation through Jane App
- Attend weekly individual and/or group supervision
- Participate in team consultations and case discussions
- Develop your clinical voice in a supportive, growth-oriented environment
Who we're looking for
Someone who is eager to learn, open to feedback, and genuinely drawn to this kind of work. You don't need to have it all figured out. What matters is that you care about the people sitting across from you and you're willing to do the work to become the therapist they deserve.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in counselling, psychotherapy, social work, or a related field
- Requires a practicum placement as part of your program
